Welcome to C & O's
Home Page.
C & O Electric Sales is a
manufacturer's representative for products for residential, commercial
and industrial construction.
Below is a brief history of our company.
Please visit our other pages to
learn more about our personnel and the factories we represent.
Jack O’Neill and Dean Clendenen, representing a single factory, Capital
Wire and Cable, founded C & O Electric Sales in 1965. Over the years,
additional factories were added to the line card, notably Republic
Conduit (then Republic Steel) in 1969, and Advance Transformer in 1970.
These two factories are still represented by
C & O.
December 1984 marked the transfer of ownership to Doug Carlson. In 1986,
Kevin O’Neill joined Doug as a principal and the new C & O
began to
grow. Jim Stanker joined the partnership in 1987. In March of 2002, Doug McGough became the fourth principal in the company. The line card has grown steadily
over the years, with
the focus on respected manufacturers who are well
recognized for superior product, quality and integrity. Line card growth
has been accompanied by growth in staff, which now includes three
outside salespersons in addition to the principals, and five inside
sales and one marketing person.
For forty five years, C & O has been a leader in its market. C & O has
developed deep relationships with its distributors and delivered
significant sales growth to the manufacturers it represents. The agency
was named “Rep of the Year" in 1997 and 1998 by TED Magazine and received
the 2002 GEM Award from Electrical Wholesaling.
